Unlimited Credit (Original Mode)

Unlimited Credit (Original Mode)
For unlimited continues in Original Mode, successfully complete training and boss modes.
Unlock "Emperor" and "Fight All Bosses" Options
To unlock "Emperor" and "Fight All Bosses" options, complete boss mode and obtain a ranking for all bosses.
Infinite Death Bullets
In Boss Mode, beat all the options (including the Emporer and Fight All) five times so that the stars turn red. You will now be able to select Death Bullets every time you start Original Mode.
Play as Gary in 1-player mode
To play as Gary in the 1 player mode instead of putting the controller into the player 1 slot put the controller into the 2nd controller socket and you can play as Gary instead of James!
Display Score
To display your score, push the d-pad LEFT [twice], RIGHT [three times], LEFT, RIGHT then press Start. If the code has been entered correctly, a "0" will appear in the upper-left corner of the screen.
All Items (Original Mode)
For all items in Original Mode, successfully complete training mode on all difficulty settings.
Bonus Room
To access the Bonus Room you'll have to beat the game without killing any of the hostages or allowing any hostages to be killed.
Death Bullets
You can get the death bullets in level three. All you need is 2.0 bullets. Wait until you get to the hostage in the boat, and don't save him (if you save him the 2.0 bullets, grenade launcher or shotgun appears on the back of the boat. After goin through, having not saved him, you'll come to a section where pirhana are leaping out of the water, shoot the door behind them with the 2.0 bullets, and the death bullets should be there.

Faster Shooting with the DreamCast Joystick
If you play the game with the DreamCast joystick, then just put one finger on the A button and another finger on the B butte and press them together (instead of pressing A several times and then B to reload). You'll fire much quicker, it's like having a minigun.
Extra Items and Other Tips
I've beaten the game several times. You get very funny extras in original mode. All HotD2 professional players read the points at the end of this long text.

  1. playing as a grandma (you can also play as Goldman, Amy, Harry and others)
  2. getting a ufo-icon. An ufo appears in the sky and you can try to shoot it
  3. Shooting green fishing lures instead of bullets (get bass? Total strange)
  4. You get new guns like Machine Gun, a Shotgun and a Paintball gun.
Note that these items are deleted when you use them. However, you can keep them forever by removing your VMS card before you use the item you wish to keep.

The special items don't appear always on the same spots. There are just some spots that give you very special items every time you shoot them. First of all, use a 1.5 or 2.0 ammo in original mode (these are not too hard to find in normal boxes), only with these bullets you get all those extras. Only the 1.5 and 2.0 ammo is able to open secret doors. Here are 4 Spots where you get extras:

  1. In Level 2 a car drives to you with a zombie on it. shoot the zombie down. The camera turns arround, on the right side is a parking, blue car. Shoot the back door of the car and it opens, after the guy says thank you, the camera moves to the right and shows into the blue car where a extra is waiting for you to be shot.
  2. After that you go up stair and shoot a group of zombies, then you turn to the left and a knife throwing zombie jumps from the rooftops. Kill him. After that you move some steps forward. Now hurry and shoot the door at the end of the hallway. It will open if you have 1.5 or 2.0 Ammo. Kill the 2 jumping zombies that now will block your way and a man will come out of the open door and give you something special (very often he gave me 2.0 ammo).
  3. In Level 3 is a scene where a green zombie attacks a man on a motorboat. Kill the zombie without killing the man, in the background on the right you see a box, shoot it to open it, it contains a 1-life extra. In the second you shot the 1-life extra a special extra appears on the boat. Shot it, camera will move away quickly!
  4. In Level 5, after you killed this waterboss with the open heart your car will continue driving over the bridge toward 2 cars and a group of zombies. You can shoot the backdoor of the left car and open it that way. Now kill the zombies between the cars and the 2 zombies with critters in their chest that come out of the right car. After that the camera turns toward the left open car and you can shoot a special extra.
There are more spots like that, but that should help you to get the point how to get those extras. Oh, all those extras are then only available in the NEXT game you start in Original mode. Some extras can only used a single time, others seem to be saved and useable forever. I have not found anything that tells you what differs the one from the others.

Getting the Rogan costume
In original mode, take 2.0 Bullets and the double score items with you to play the game. Rescue all the hostages except for the second one in level 4, and play through the game. If you make it all the way up to the end, You should come across a secret room kinda like the one you find if you beat the game while rescuing all hostages. Inside, you'll find the Rogan costume and an infinite credits token. PLUS, if you're good enough to beat the game, you get a special ending where Rogan comes out just before you exit the building.
Getting the Goldman Costume
To get the Goldman costume in Original mode, simply beat Original mode the whole way through. When you start a new Original mode game, the Goldman costume should appear in your trunk.
Free Play
To Accesse the free play in the opions menu beat the Boss mode with all stars. Free play will be avalible in the continue settings. Note: this is for the U.S. version of The House of the Dead 2
One Shot Kills and Unlimited Ammo
Finish the training mode with 5 red star difficulty on each training stage for a nice reward.
Napalm Gun
To get the napalm gun, get a perfect head shot on the first three zombies in Stage One. If you're successfull their heads will fly off and a new gun will appear on the ground. Shoot it and the napalm is yours.
Never Reload
When you go to shoot a zombie prees the reload button and the fire button at the same time.

Note: keep doing this every time you shoot.

Red Blood option
To get the red blood option in House of the Dead 2 you need to beat the game in the original mode. Then after you beat it go back to the options menu. Now there should be the option for blood color.

Emperor and Fight All Bosses Options

Defeat all bosses with a ranking in Boss Mode

Extra Room (Japanese Version Only)

Finish the game without losing any hostages for a bonus room

Machine gun

In the second stage, save the man in the car. Then before he thanks you, shoot the blue van to the right and sometimes there will be a machine gun.

Show Score (Japanese version only)

At the title screen press L, L, R, R, R, L, R, Start. These are the buttons on the cross shaped pad.

Show score U.S.version

To veiw your score while playing, press left, left,right,right,right,left,right on the
D-pad at the title screen

Get Napalm Gun

Get a head shot on the first 3 zombies in the 1st stage.

Faster Firing

Press A + B together for faster firing action

Unlimited Credit in Original Mode

Complete all boss modes with 5 red stars in all bosses including the "fight all bosses". You also must finish boss mode with 5 red stars and fight all mode with 2 stars. For your efforts you get one shot bullet and Unlimited Credit in Original mode

Get Goldman Costume

After finishing the game in original mode the next time you play the costume will be in the trunk of the car in the next original mode game.

Get All Items

Finish the training mode with all difficulty settings to get all items in original mode. You can also complete boss mode to get all items

Get training mode and boss mode

Finish the game in original mode to get these 2 options

Get Unlimited One Hit Kill Ammo

Finish training mode and get a 5 star rating on each stage. Now you will get the ammo.

Get Red Blood

Complete the game using original mode and a option for red blood will appear on the options screen

Get Death Bullet!

All you need is 2.0 bullet.
There is one door behind fish attacking at third chapter, if you shoot the door with 2.0 bullet, you'll get the Death Bullet!

Bonus Cats & Mice!

If you shoot the cats and mice that appear on the screen, they will lead you to bonus places!

Alternate Stage at chapter #2

message: At the beggining of the chapter 2, you'll see zonbie hanging on red car.
Usually, we shoot the zombie, and save bald man.  But if you don't save the bald man, you can go to other new stage.

Shoot Stairs at chapter #4

message: After you saved all hostages at chapter #4, you'll see one stairs that some bats are attacking to you.
If you pay attention to left side of the screen right before the stairs, you can see something looks like rock on the ground, and shoot the thing!
After shoot the rock, the stairs key will be unlocked, and if you shoot the stairs, the stairs will lift up.
You can get something from under the stairs!

Get Bruno Costume

To get the bruno costume, In the final chapter of original mode, you will go though a hall with doors on each side of you(past tower2 boss). Shoot the doors or the locks on the last few doors on your left and one should open with a woman in a ?brown Maid dress?, She will say "good luck" and give you the bruno costume. Now just watch the credits go by and it will be in Amy's car trunk. He looks like a sylvester stalone kinda guy. Please E-mail me if this dosen't work, you might have to try it a couple of times.

Rogan Costume+Infinite credits

Score over 100,000 points, and a special door will open at the end of the Final chapter.You will also get an alternate ending

Infinite items?{easy}

Start the game like usual,go to original mode{if you play oridginal mode}and at the trunk pull out your VMU or your memory card{only do this if your willing to sacrafice any new items you`ll earn during the game}and presto!

Get gernade or shotgun free!

First you have to have a shotgun.In the first chapter right before the boss{judgement}where th two zombies jump from the bridge there is a door under that bridge,shoot the door and a sweet little old grandma comes out and gives you either a shootgun or a gernade laucher

Item locations in original mode (Credit+2 etc.)

1.In the first chapter, right when you enter the office and or library shoot the chandelier and an item will fall for you to shoot.
2.In the second chapter after you save the bald man in the car, you go up the stairs and face the zombie on the roof. After killing him, two metal clawed and masked zombies attack. Right behind them is a door which you need to shoot (Only with a shotgun) to reveal a civilian that gives you an item.
3.In the fifth chapter after beating Judgment and are in the car, kill the zombies in the car next to you and right after that shoot in the center of the road ahead of you before the boss breaks the road and sometimes you might shoot the item located far away on the road. Then after beating that boss, shoot the blue van to the left of you when you reach the mob of zombies attacking you. After killing them, if successful, you will look inside the van to receive an item.
4.In the fifth chapter before beating judgment, two zombies will jump out of a blue van accompanied by another zombie out of the van. Right behind the two zombies from the van is a U.F.O item in the van as well as another item in one of the barrels beside the van.
5.In the sixth chapter when you are about to meet the zombies in the elevator, there will be an item at the feet of the zombies in the elevator which can be obtained.

Different way to get Machine Gun

Note:You have to have A Gun controller to do this.Look at the gun and there will be something you can push left or right push it in one of those directions and it should shoot like a machine gun.
