Buying a Goat from Van

Once your into Chapter 2, go talk to Van and select "Buy".  You should have the option of a goat.  If you haggle the price with him, it will go down to 3200g and he'll throw in a goat milker!!!!

More Cash Easier
Allright you want to have more cash without so much work its simple....get trees all of them...start probably in the first year and go from there...plant the trees in any soil....doesnt matter...just keep a space between them...plant them in a checker board pattern though....if you still want to plant crops then dont plant the trees in the very fertile soil or the fertile soil plant them in the soil next to yer house...then you can still have yer crops...though crop seeds dont get much unlike tree seeds which you can get alot of money from....you might want to save some of the seeds to plant later I guess

How to get a lizard!
Around fall or winter time a big white monster type thing will be walking around the area by the sprite's home. Be nice to it (talk to it) and give it fish (it loves to eat) and then some time before year two he'll give you a lizard!
P.S do this before year 2.

Fishing Advice 2
When you obtain the fishing rod from Van, try fishing from the bridge in between the town. If your lucky enough, you can catch a small fish called a Sharshark that goes for 600 units of money.

Get Pets:Chihuahua
During all chapters at the dig site you have to find the tablets. There are six tablets, one for every chapter of the game. You have to find all six tablets and once you find all of the tablets and befriend Carter or Flora, you will get the chihuahua.

Calling horse
Press [R]x2 to calls you horse from anywhere outside to you.

Get ducks
Go to Takakura and you buy a pond for 2,500 G some time during the Summer in Chapter 2. Then, wake up later than your wife in the morning.

The ducks will go into your pond sometime in the Summer of any year, but you must have room in your Chicken Coop.

In Year 2, buy the pond for 2,500 G. Then, wait until you get married. Make sure you have room in your chicken coop. Use your sickle and make a two square long path going in a plus side pattern from the fence to the pond. Make sure it remains cut. Eventually your wife will wake you up, telling you that there are ducks in the pond.

Get a cat
Befriend Romona. Somewhere in Chapter 2 and up, Romona will come to your house and let you name and have it.

You will get a cat sometime in the second year in the second chapter (Happy Birthday). You will get the cat from Romana, the lady that lives in the mansion. Note: You do not need to be friends with her.

Get a goat
Starting in the second year, you can buy a goat from Van. It will give milk once per day for a full season, then it will stop. You can sell the goat milk for 115 G or make goat cheese and butter. The goat cheese and butter sell for 155 G and 150 G. However, you cannot sell the goat.

Get a horse
During the first summer of The Beginning, somewhere around Summer 8 Takura will give you the horse. He says that you ordered it, then finds out that you did not order it.

Get a lizard
To get a lizard you must befriend Mukumuku. To do this, give the giant white monster a fish and watch as he jumps up and down.

Get Different Pets!!
Other then regular animals, you can get some other pets and animals in AWL. If your a big animal lover, try getting them all!

Cat: Visit Ramona every day and give her flowers and milk every day. Eventully she'll become your friend. During the summer in Chapter 2, wake up before your wife and Ramona will give you a cat.(I think all the wives wake up at different times, my wife[Celia] wakes up at 6:00 AM a lot) The cat will be black, and you can name it, but it doesn't do really anything.

Chiwawa(sp?): I'm not too sure about this one, but the Chiwawa is at the dig site in the tent. I THINK you have to befriend the guy who digs there, and then maybe he'll give you the Chiwawa. However, I've heard that you have to feed it, so make sure you really want it.

Lizard: Befriend Makumaku(the white monster who comes out in the Winter) and give him fish. He'll eventully give you the lizard with the bandage on it's leg. It doesn't do anything, however.

Racoon: Befriend Vesta or Marlin(Vesta likes milk and Marlin likes crops that you grew) and eventully they'll give you a racoon. It doesn't do anything, but it's soooo cute^_^

Ducks: Simply buy the Pond in the Food Storage Room. They make eggs, just like the chickens.

Goat: Buy it from Van. With the goat you can make cheese and butter.


Weather Control
If you are disatisfied with your weather go to your TV and keep turning it on and off on the weather channel until it gives you the weather you want.

Win All Horse Racing Bets
Before attending a horse race, save your game ahead of time. After the race ends, remember who won the race, then reset your GameCube and load the file you saved before the race happened. Once the game is loaded, return to the horse race and place your bets on the horse that originally won the race.

Banana Gold
Buy a banana seed, plant the seed, and take care of it. Then, buy the seed harvester. The next summer, take your bananas and harvest the seeds. Plant a few fo the seeds, but sell the rest to Van--they sell for 750 a seed, and a tree will yield 30+ bananas.

Chase Away Rain and Hurricanes
When it's stormy outside and you want to stop the rain, visit a mine and do some digging. As you emerge from the mine the rain will stop.

Earn Easy Money
If you own a seed maker and any type of tree you can easily get thousands of dollars. When you shake the tree for the fruit don't sell the fruit. Instead, put it in your seed maker to get seeds from the fruit. When the seeds are made, sell them to Van for more profit.

Find Out Who Loves You
To find out how much the girl of your dreams wants you, look at her diary. You can find Celia's on her bed in the upstairs of her house. For Molly, you can look on the table with the flowers at the Blue Bar. For Nami, follow her to her room at the Inner Inn.

Fishy Advice
Early in the game, the best way to make money is to fish. Buy the rod from Van and go up the river to where you see three rocks. You can make over a 1,000 in money a day. Also, if you cast and there are no bites for a very long time, don't give up and don't recast either! Wait it out and you'll be rewarded with a Yamame or Big Yamame, which go for 500 and 1,000 respectively.

Quick Cash
If you are having trouble making money, gather up all of your fodder. Fodder sells for 10 gold a piece and one sell of 99 pieces will get you 990 gold.

Sleep Without Passing Time
Select the Diary and choose to sleep. Save the game when prompted to, and then reset your GameCube. Load the save file you just made and you'll begin before you went to sleep but will be fully rested.

Love Tips
It's pretty easy to win over any of the girls. You just have to give Muffy almost any flower, or you can give her the Pretty Ore. Also, she only likes one fish--the Big Huechep. To Nami give her artifacts and in the fall give her trick blue flowers. Give Celia flowers and she will love you anyday.

Give your girl one of these things each day and she will be falling for you in no time. If you do have trouble getting Nami to fall for you, just propose to the other girls and she will get jealous, and end up liking you more.

Easy items
To get free items like a Strange Sickle and a Tumtum, go to the hippy/song writer's house at night. This will only work slightly after midnight.

More tools
If you become good friends with Vesta (give her flowers everyday) then look for her in her storage room, she will eventually give you the weird hoe. Also, if you become good friends with Dr. Hardy (he likes coins from the dig site) and enter his house when he moves to town, he will give you the weird sickle. Give flowers to Gustafa everyday and when you can enter his house, if he is friends with you he will give you a strange sickle. Also become friends with Sabrina, Kate, and/or Grant (your friendship with one will eventually rub off onto the rest of the family). Grant will give you an alarm clock to help get you up in the morning. Kate and Sabrina both like flowers. Finally if you become friends with Romona, Subastian and Lumina, (Romona and Lumina like flowers and Subastian likes old coins, gold ones only and eggs), Romona will eventually give you a wooden watering can. You can use the tools or just collect them. They are a symbol of friendship with these people.

Free Seed Maker
Befriend Daryl (the scientist) and wait until you see his trap #2 for catching the monster. When it fails, go to his house. When you enter his house you will see an intermission sequence with him talking about the Seed Maker. He will give you one when he is done talking.

Level S seeds
This trick requires almost a year of patience, depending on where you are in the game. Wait until you have the Talking, Hybridizing plant Tartan. Once you have him, find the seed you want to be "super". It can be a hybrid or normal crop). Then, gather the vast quantities of the following flowers in the corresponding seasons: Happy Lamp (Summer), Gemsoil (Fall), and Upseed (Winter). Once you have all of them, go to Tartan with the "super" seed to be. One at a time, combine the seed with one of each flower. Once each flower is combined, stop hybridizing and press Start. Highlight the seed and press the "Help" button. The seed is now level S, can be grown in any soil, in any season, and thus a "super" seed.

Heartbreaker
If you are having a difficult time getting Nami to fall for you, consider taking the roundabout approach. Break Muffy and Celia's hearts by proposals to them. Show Muffy and Celia the Blue Feather. When they ask "Are you serious?" say "No." By the end of the first chapter, Nami's affection should be high enough that you can propose to her.

Strange Hoe
To get the Strange Hoe you must befriend Tim the hotel manger. He likes fruits.

Monster sighting
Go into your house before 9:00 p.m. Wait until 9:45 p.m. and walk out of your house. This should start an intermission sequence where you will see Daryl walking into the woods toward the spring to find the monster that has been seen lately. The monsters name will be Mukumuku. Note: You may have to be friends with Daryl for this to work.

Fishing
Do not go fishing with a empty stomach.

Planting
Use the following trick if you have a hard time planting with the watering can. Use the watering can with the faucet by the chicken coop. It will help you by spraying water instead of drops.

Piano practice
If you walk into Romana's Vila around 10:30 a.m., you should start an intermission sequence that shows Lumina playing the piano and Romana telling her to "Play more freely" She will then stop and she will talk to you. You will then be given a choice of what to say to her. If you tell her "That's OK, have fun", she will tell you a story and you will be friends or become better friends with her.

Milk drinking contest
When you go into the Inner Inn and Rock and Tim are in the main room, go over to Rock. He will ask to have a milk drinking contest. Try going there on Spring the 9th at about 2:30.

Box from the beach
When you are married to Celia, sometime in the third chapter (about Spring the 3rd), at about 5 or 6 in the morning, go into your son's room. He will be lying on the floor by a box. Ask what the box is and he will say he found it on the beach. Say that it is cool and he will get all excited that you also liked it. He will then tell you that there is a secret code on the side. If you answer "It says Fragile," he will say "Wow! Cool! You know how to tell what codes are!? Your like a spy!". This may make him look up to you, or at least like you.

Quick rest
Select the "Diary" option and choose to go to sleep. Save the game when asked, then reset the Gamecube. Load that saved game file to resume just before the time you went to sleep, but fully rested.

Prevent offending girl
If you offend a girl whom you want to marry, it will take longer to get a heart. To prevent this, when you do one of the intermission sequences with the girl, she will talk to you and you will have to respond. There are two responses that you can choose from. One of them is good, and the other is a bad choice. If you choose a bad response, wait until the sequence is over and reset the Gamecube. You should wake up to the same day as the intermission sequence, and can do the same thing that you did before to get the sequence. This time, make a good choice for the response.

What to do in Chapter one

In the first chapter there is some things to do and not to do.

What not to do. *Seed Maker
-Dont buy a seed maker because in chapter 2 Takakura (the guy who live on your farm) buys one for you and it doesn't cost you anything. you save 6000g.
What to do. *Seed Maker
-Make friends with Takakura and this plant-like creature named Tartan lives at Takakuras house from chapter 2 on. Tartan is a seed maker and will try to make a hybrid crop from anything you give it. (try giving it a crop with a flower)
What not to do. *Chickens
-Dont buy your all your chickens.
What to do. *Chickens
-Buy one rooster and one hen. then put fertilized eggs in the incubator. and let it carry on from there. after you have 5 hens sell all the roosters, because you'll need room in there for your ducks when they come later on.
What not to do. *Trees
-Dont plant your trees in the smaller fields.
What to do. *Trees
-Plant them in the largest field and use fertilizer to make the fruit better (save you S quality fruits for the seed maker) !!!Also don't plant anything within the 8 surrounding squares of the tree because what ever you plant there will die or not grow!!!

P.S. Celiais not Vesta's daughter! Celia just works at the other farm and lives there. Vesta took Celia in and treats her as her daughter. Marlin (Vesta's brother) marries Celia if you don't

Animal Care

Have you got a cow but it doesn't give any milk. Then you get so mad. It's okay, when you buy a cow they are only about a month old. Cows have to have a baby before giving milk
 Never buy a boy cow. They don't mate with your girl cow. (I don't think) All's you have to do is buy miracle portion and give it to one of your girl cows. Then there is a 95% of it getting pregnant.
   When it is sunny out always bring your animals outside. When they are out. Push your sheep over to the bathing counter, and press Y to wash your sheep. Do this every day, and your sheep will give golden fleece the next time you shave it. (It turns golden once it falls of the sheep) Golden fleece is worth 600 G.
  In the winter go to the left side of the river and you will see some sort of Yetti. I don't know what it does.

Call Horse

Everyone knows to whistle for the dog by clicking the "R" button.  Click it twice quickly and the Horse will come to you- outside building only.

GET A GOAT

Getting a goat is easy. in the second year go see van (fat guy who sells things) and when he asks you what u want to do say buy and a goat will be a choose. it will cost  about 4,000 Gold so save up cause you cant haggle the price any lower. One problem is that your goat will eventually stop giving you milk after a while. (darn goat!) and you can only get  a female so no breeding.

Daryl

Daryl likes fish. Give him one every day. After u go in his house and start to see his solar power cut scene pick "stay". Then, once u come out go back in and he'll give you the seed maker for free. (this MUST be done in the first year)

How To Get a Lizard

This is how you get a lizards.
   In Winter, that big huge white fury guy that you can find wondering around in the forest. Well you be nice to him and give him fish, he will jump up and down being excited and it could happen then or it could happen later that season. But he should hand over the lizard.

Awesome Fish Spot

A great fish spot is by the bridge and if you fish there for 45harvestmoonminutes you will catch a Sharshark worth 600G but if you haggle with Van its worth 720G

Golden Wool

Get golden wool by brushing your sheep every day until you sheer them. Then you'll have golden wool to sell for 600g.

Get 22,500g

Get a banana tree and get the fruit.  DON'T SELL THE FRUIT! There should be 15 fruit.  Go and get the seeds out and sell the 30 seeds for 22,500.

Bye Bye Rain

The trick to getting rid of rain and hurricanes is to go to the excavation site and dig up more than 1 of the spaces available. Then talk to Carter. He will ask you if your done. Reply "yes" and he will take you outside to a b-e-a-utiful day!

Easy money

To do this, you must first have a seed maker and some kind of tree. (I did it with grapes)
First, get the fruit from the tree. Then once you have it you have, go to the seed maker and turn the ruit into seeds. Get the seeds and take them to Van and sell them. Normally tree fruit sells for somewhere between 25G-45G, but if you change it to seeds, it will be worth a ton more! (grade B grapes sell for 35G, but if you change it into seeds they sell for 450G for one seed bag!)

How to get the horse

To get the take good care of your cow and other life stock.In the Summer the guy who lives on your farm  will give you the horse.

When you get married

If you propose to a girl and she says yes, you get married  the first day of spring on the next year.(I think)

Your Son.

After you get married it says a few years later........ and you have a son to play with him talk to him and press the y button to pick him up don't talk to him and I think you need to press Y.

Jobs for your kid.

Become friends with Cody, Daryl, Carter and Flora and your kid might grow up and work for one of them if you let him.

Girls

Celia-Vesta's daughter-flowers
Muffy-works at Blue Bar-flowers, milk, crystal, etc.
Nami-lives at the Inner Inn-artifacts, fossils, records, human head sculpture, etc.

All about Celia.

Celia is sweet, down-to-earth gal who knows her way around a farm.  She lives with Vesta and Marlin at the farm across the river from your farm.  Celia has a fondness for nature and is very agreeable.
Celia's Diary-
Celia's diary is on the bed in her room.  Enter the house on Vesta's farm and climb the stairs to the loft where Celia's room is.  Look at the bed and press A to look at her diary.
The key to Celia's heart-
Celia makes an ideal farmers wife.(She's also hot!)  She's a simple girl who knows a good deal about crops and animals.  She's also easy to please- give Celia a flower or a piece of produce at least once a day;she'll fall head-over-heels for you.  To tell how much she likes you go look in her diary when it has only 1 heart you are pretty much just strangers.  But as soon as you have 5 hearts ya'll are deeply in love and its time to turn to the Blue Feather the Harvest Sprites give you in the Summer of the first year.
I'm going to have a baby!-
At the beggining of the second year,your son will be born.(only boys,sorry gals out there.)  Celia's and your son is sweet,affectionate just like you and Celia!  He shares Celia's dark eyes and your brown hair.

Win Nami over easy as cake.

Wait until summer and get the blue feather.  Go to either Muffy or Celia and use the blue feather on them 10 times a day and always say" No, I don't mean it."

All About Muffy

Here is the scoop on Muffy. If you want her to be your wife, then make time in the day to go to the excavation site to find an old coin or some kind of silver ore. Also, pick  a flower, any one will do. Muffy can be found between 10:00 and 11:00 in the back room of the blue bar. You may also find her walking around Vesta's Farm around 2:00. Do this until she has 4 hearts for you, then show her the blue feather.

Get rich quick

The first time Van comes to town, buy a fishing pole from his shop for 500G. Then go to the top of the river by the dig sight. Cast your line by the waterfall and wait for the fish to come rolling in. The lowest price you can get for the fish is 600G per fish.

Go to the dig sight at around 11:30 a.m. and you can dig until 5:00 p.m. You can dig in a spot more than once, too. The first year the highest price that you can sell things for is 50G and that is a skull fossil. The professor only keeps tablets with pictures on them and everything else you can keep and sell or give to one of the three girls that you can marry. The second year you can find things that are sold for a higher price and the diging sight expands also. You can find different types of fossils and different ores and statues, the horse statue being worth the most at 70G.

Make your own shop

When Van isn't taking in any of your precious possessions, you can set up your own shop where he usually is. All you have to do is simply press 'A' when you are near the place he sells items. The 'A' icon will read 'Sell'. When people walk by, whistle with 'R' to catch their attention. Talk to them and make some profit!

Easy Money

Take your sickle and cut all the grass in the fenced in area behind the barn. Then go in the barn and take fodder out of the fodder holder. Then put it in your backpack. On a day Van has his stand open sell all the fodder that is in your backpack to him. The max fodder that your can have in your back pack at one time is 99. They sell at 10g each. 

How to Sell your Items

Go to the Inn. When you get near the tree(It should be to your right when facing the front side of the Inn) you should see "sell" pop up in the right corner button screen. Press A and you will set up a stand. Now whistle to get people to come! Talk to them when they come and see if they want something. If they want something you may want to give them the lowest price so they will like you. To close the stand walk off of the mat.

Get Ducks

Once you buy the pond. A couple of ducks will apear. Take them and put them in the chicken coop. Always keep a male and a female
duck. That way you can hatch another one.
if not the ducks wont come back.

Getting Gold

Collect all the flowers, shrubs, and other plants found around forget-me-not valley. Van the traveling salesmen will buy anything you find.

Digging at the archaeology sight will get you good money too. All of the items that are not important to carter will be yours to keep. Sell them to van as well.

When you milk your cow, put the milk in the dairy shipping bin, found in the food storage house across from the barn. You will get more money from Takakura`s sales, then you would from Van. Eggs from your chicken that are non-fertilized should be sold in the dairy bin too.

Go fishing on the bridge to The Farm, and by the waterfall. They are the best spots to catch good fish. Sell these to Van, unless they are Snelts,then you should keep them incase you or your dog need food.

Get money

Milk your cow twice a day. When you have enough money to buy to chickens buy a male(Rooster)female(Chicken)then sale the normal eggs and keep the fertilized eggs to get more chickens then buy more cows and sale their milk to get money then when you have enough money build a cow milking factory it milks the cows for you.

Getting Celia to marry you
