Play as Baby Mario/Luigi:
Successfully complete challenge mode with Yoshi

Play as Dixie Kong:
Complete challenge mode as Donkey Kong

Play as Monty Mole:
Complete challenge mode as Mario

Play as Hammer Bro:
Complete challenge mode as Bowser

Play as Petey Piranha:
Complete challenge mode as Wario

Play as Toadette:
Complete challenge mode as Peach

Play as Bowser:
Complete challenge mode under "Special Difficulty" setting

Play as Toad:
In Challenge Mode, go to Wario Stadium, then beat all of his missons.

Katroopa/Paratroopa Park
Beat game with anybody in challenge mode.

Koopa Castle Stadium:
Successfully complete challenge mode

Coin Derby mini-game:
Successfully complete challenge mode

Grand Prix mini-game:
Complete all six mini-games under "Star Difficulty" setting

Star dash mini-game:
Successfully complete all six mini-games on the Star difficulty setting to unlock the Star Dash mini-game.



Special Pitches and Hits

Curve Balls -- Hold in L & R & press A & down on the stick and hold in the speed pitch button.

Fast Curve Balls -- Hold in L & R & press B & X and hold down the C Stick.

Hit Home Runs Everytime -- Only the team captains can hit farthest but it works on the other characters too. Hold in the Power Hit as soon as the ball leaves the pitchers hand get ready to hit hard, when it comes in about 2 inches from the plate pull back and press the power hit button 2 times.



Super Ball

When pitching hold R and A but you can only use it a few times so use wisely.



Better Pitches

To get better pitches, all you have to do is charge up, then let go of the A button right before he pitches it. You should see a "NICE" come up.



Run Faster

When you are running to a base press B repeatedly.



Star Ball Hit

To hit a pitched ball and use the special star hit, you must hold L and R and push A to hit the ball while holding L and R. (I have tried holding only L and it dosn't work for me).



Fielding the Ball

These tips should help you play better defense:

Dive catches- when you get close to a ball landing press A and you will preform a dive catch.

Luigi superjump- when a character on the other team hits a bottom row homer, and you have Luigi in the outfield, get right up on the wall and press A for a superjump.



Change Character's Color

To change Toad, Shy Guy, Koopa Troopa, Koopa Paratroopa, Magikoopa, Dry Bones, Noki, or Pianta's color move the Player 1 box to one of the characters listed above and press L to change their color. (Colors sometimes apply for some, but not all. For example, you can make Shy Guy into a red, blue, yellow, green, or black Shy Guy but you can make Dry Bones green, red, or blue.)

Complete Challenge Mode once

Secret Characters
Not all players are unlocked from the start so you'll need to unlock them if you want to enjoy and experince all of the characters.

Baby Luigi - Complete Challenge Mode with Yoshi.
Dixie Kong - Complete challenge mode with Donkey Kong
Toadette - Complete Challenge Mode with Peach
Petey Piranha - Complete Challenge Mode with Wario
Monty Mole - Complete Challenge Mode with Mario
Hammer Bro - Complete Challenge Mode with Bowser

Unlock Bowser for Challenge Mode
To unlock Bowser for Challenge mode, simply beat Challenge mode on Special with any character.

Complete Challenge Mode once

Star Dash
Clear Star difficulty on all six mini-games.

Unlock Grand Prix Mode
Beat all mini games on star difficulty.

Super Star
To unlock the final item in the shop, complete the item check list which includes all special pitches, treasure map and the 1-time use items.
