Cheat: NES Game Cheats
With the classic NES Metroid game unlocked, enter the following passwords by pressing Z at the main menu with your GBA linked to your GameCube.
  • Start game with all power-ups suitless Samus: JUSTIN BAILEY ______ ______
  • Start game with suitless Samus: 000000 000020 000000 000020
  • Start game with infinite health, ammo, and upgrades: NARPAS SWORD0 0000__ ______
  • Debug Mode: BOMBS_MISSLE SCREW_ATACK
  • Hard Mode: 999999 999999 KKKKKK KKKKKK
Cheat: Play Original NES Metroid on GameCube via Link Cable
To make this work, you will need a copy of Metroid Fusion for GBA and a copy of Metroid Prime for GCN. Once you have beaten Metroid Fusion, connect the GBA (with the Fusion cartrdige in it) to the Cube via the Game Boy Advance link cable. You will now be able to play NES Metroid... and save on the Cube Memory Card.
Hint: Preserve Health Fighting Thardus
Having trouble fighting Thardus? There is a section where you can hide from his rolling. Go toward the platform to the right of where you came in. Go past the platform and turn right. You'll see that next to the wall of snow there is a metal beam. Stay between the wall and the beam, staying closer to the metal beam. Thardus will never hit you here. Strafe out to shoot at him, and hide next to the beam when he starts rolling. This method may take a little longer than the "proper" way, but you'll save tons of health. I left the arena with 200 health left.
Unlockable: Image Gallery I
Scan 50% of the research and creature data to unlock Image Gallery 1.
Unlockable: Gallery 4
Clear the game on Hard Mode.
Unlockable: Gallery 3
Collect all items (100%).
Unlockable: Metroid Fusion Suit For Metroid Prime
To make this work, you will need a copy of Metroid Fusion for GBA and a copy of Metroid Prime for GCN. Once you have beaten Metroid Prime, connect the GBA (with the Fusion cartrdige in it) to the Cube via the Game Boy Advance link cable. The Metroid Fusion suit will now be available in the File menu of Prime.
Unlockable: Gallery 2
Collect 50% or more of the items.
Unlockable: Hard Mode
Clear the game to unlock Hard Mode.
Hint: View Idle Animations
Want to see what the heroine of Metroid Prime does when she's not hunting Metroids and Space Pirates? Don't touch your controller for a few seconds and Samus will start to relax her posture slightly, then opens a flap on her Power Blaster and fiddles with the controls. Okay, perhaps it's not the most exciting thing in the world, but cool nevertheless.
Hint: View Real Reflection.
When you find the reflective orbs in the ruins, when you approach it you see yourself reflected on the surface in your armor. While seeing your reflection charge your charge beam and hit the reflective surface. Look closely at your HUD visor. You will see Samus' eyes blinking due to the charge beam hit being reflected off the surface.
Hint - Space Jump First
It is possible to get the space jump before you pick up any other items. To do this, simply go to the very back of the gunship and get on the right side, (not at the edge but close so you have room for error). Then switch to the scan visor and lock on to the glowing spidervine next to the door that leads to the impact crater.

Then dash to the right and about 1/4 after you dash release your lock and you should continue moving in that direction and land on the ledge that leads to the space jump. After that have fun with getting missle expansions in the Chozo ruins.
Easter Egg: See Your Reflection
There are several refelective dome-shaped wall hangings placed around the world of Tallon IV. If you stand in front of it you can see a reflection of Samus staring back at you.

percentage to view an alternate ending sequence. Finish the game

Fire missiles faster
With the first gun equipped, rapidly press Y + A. As soon as the
missile fires, the gun will switch back to beam weapon mode, but
when you press Y again, it fires another missile. This can take
down enemies in a shorter time, preventing them from having more
attacks on you.

Get unreachable power-ups
If energy or ammunition is out of your reach, aim and charge your
beam. The energy or ammunition will come to you.

Heat wave
Shoot any beam weapon repeatedly for about thirty seconds. When
you stop, a heat wave can be seen in front of the arm cannon.

Phazon Suit
To acquire the Phazon Suit, you must defeat the Omega Pirate. The
Phazon Suit makes you immune to most forms of Phazon radiation.
It also comes equipped with the Phazon Beam, which can only be activated
during the last Boss fight.

See Samus' reaction
To see Samus' reaction within the helmet inside of the reflection,
charge and shoot directly at the ground. Note: Try this in an icy
place.

Kill birds in Chozo Ruins
When you enter the Chozo Ruins, aim your gun skywards. You will
see birds flying. Shoot the birds and they will explode, with feathers
all over the place.

Kill Elite Pirates
When the Elite Pirates burst out of containment, switch to your
normal beam and build up a charge shot. When the Elite is not trying
to absorb energy, fire a Super Missile at them. Two Super Missiles
will take them down. Use the following tactics to defeat the different
kinds of Elite Pirates at the Phazon Mines. This is a very difficult
area due to switching beams for certain pirates:

Power Troopers
Use Normal Beams or charge a Normal Beam at it three to four times.

Wave Troopers
Use Wave Beams or charge a Wave Beam at it (two to four times).

Ice Troopers
Use Ice Beams or charge an Ice Beam at it and finish it with one missile.

Shadow Pirates
Use the Thermal Visor to see them. Use Wave Beams or charge a Wave
Beam at it at full force (two to four times); or, fire with ease
with the Plasma Beam.

Plasma Troopers
Fire at them with your Plasma Beam three or four times. Hide behind
a wall and the Plasma Beam will end up finishing them with its burning
effect. Do this to other pirates as well, even though they only
need about three shots to be killed, only about one will evaporate
them if you just wait patiently.

Full map of Tallon IV:
Successfully complete the game under the hard difficulty setting to unlock Image
Gallery 3. When this gallery is opened, there will be a map of the entire game,
indicating where everything and everyone is. The left side of the map will have a
legend on it.

See Samus' reaction:
To see Samus' reaction within the helmet inside of the reflection, charge and
shoot directly at the ground. Note: Try this in an icy place.
