Hint: Walk Till You Drop
Before making the last stop in the park, change your dog's collar to auto-save your game. Turn off the DS and cold boot the game. This will enable you to save any items you found during the walk and restarts your walk at the same time, allowing you to farm the park for items.
More Dog Species -- Less Natasha Henstridge
Unlock other dog species by connecting to another DS and what the other Nintendogs DS has will clone to your kennel. Alternately, earn trainer points for a sure-fire loner unlock.

Free Food
When you are petting your dog, if you pet it long enough, a gold bone will appear at the bottom of the screen. drag the bone to your dogs mouth to give it a treat. Also if you are training your dog, if the dog understands the command you are saying, a golden lightbulb appears over it's head. To give it another treat, drag the lightbulb to it's mouth. Bon Appetite!
