Do you hate having to get those shield powerups, just so you can't pummel guys fast? Well instead of buying/getting the powerups, just press Z+B and you can use a potion to make a Energy Shield. It does more damage and gets a bigger radius depending on your Magic level. Get 999 Magic and it will be 9 million times better than the powerup!

How to Defeat Dragon and Lion

Dragon-To defeat the dragon, you have to open the oblisks in the fire world.  Once you've opened all 2, get to the level before the boss in the castle world(world 2). Now you have to find the axe of untar on your own...it's very tricky.  ONce you got the axe of untar, go to the Dragon.  The axe will freeze him so he'll be vulnerable to hit(I suggest you use the ice amulet if you have any).
Chimera(lion)-  In the fire world on level 3, find a way to get the sword.  When you have it, go to the CHimera in the castle world and it will cut off one of the lion's heads.  THerefore it will be easier to defeat.

Sword of Untar

When you are in the moutain world, go to the level just before the dragon. Now look for the elevator type thing operated by a swith. When you go down you will see the Sword of Untar(to the right). go back up top and activate all the switches. One will make a walk-way for you to get to the sword. YOU DON'T NEED LEVITATION.

Make all Enemys Shrink

When you raise enough gold around 1200, go to the wizard you first meet in the beggining of the game (where you start off).  Buy the magic to make enemys shrink.  Go to the dragon when you have all the levels accesed at the volcano world (the first place you go to fight) use the shrink here.(Note do not waste all the shrink magic on him also he will not shrink).  Now you beat the dragon.  When you come out the enemys in all the levels will now be as small as a ant.  (Note have not died while attempting this code also do not use the shrink again it will regrow enemy and keep shrink with you or else it will grow the enemy back to normal again).

Make All Enemys Stay Frozen

When you get 1200 gold go to Sumner and buy a time freeze.  After buying that go to the dragon in the mountain world.  Once inside, Turn on the time freeze and die while it is still activated.  Now In any other level all enemys will stay frozen until you turn off or restart the N64.

Extra Characters

To get the extra characters, all you have to do is to collect 50 coins for that character in the secret bonus levels.  There is one hidden in each world.

Prolong 'Stop Yime and Shrinking effects'.

Go to the dragon boss with with a stop time or shrink enemys in hand. let the dragon get your power low(low enough that the narrator says 'your man is about to die'). then activat one of them (it would have no effect on the dragon). While it is on let the dragon boss kill you , then go to continue.

Go to the desired level and the time will be stoped, or the enemies will be shrunken permanantaly. To de-activate the cheat activate stop time or shrink enemies, in 30 seconds the cheat will be off. 

Start with Secret Characters

Get the 50 coins for any of the secret characters.  Save your game on the memory pack.  Now load that game, then go to the character menu and select new.  Now you should be able to select from any secret characters that your saved character activated.  note: select the color you want because you won't be able to change it until you activate that secret character.

Freeze Time

Beet your way up to the first level boss. when you are fighting him take out the time freezer for a few seconds, it will not work on him but once your out all the levels will have been frozen.  



Scimitar of Rasha & Ice Axe of Untar

The two weapon items you need to fight the first 2 dragons are the Scimitar of Rasha, found in the 5th level of the mountain world, and the Ice Axe of Untar, found on the 4th level of the castle world. The Ice Axe of Untar is used to help kill the Mountain World's Dragon. The Scimitar of Rasha is used to help kill the Castle World's Dragon & company.



Secret Characters & Legendary Weapons

Getting Minotaur: In the MOUNTAIN KINGDOM,go to the CLIFF level,find the portal but don't go there.Instead head south of it and you should see the secret door.Now collect 50 coins to play as the Minotaur character.

Getting Falconess:In the CASTLE WORLD,go to the level known as TREASURY (where you also get the ICE AXE).The secret door should appear before teh portal does.Now collect 50 coins to play as teh Falconess character.

Getting Tigress:In the first TOWN level.Reach teh portal but don't go in,instead backtrack to the hill with a nuce hanging above.There should be a switch on it.If you follow it,you'll be walking a slanted,narrow path going upwards.Kill the enemies you encouter and the secret door should be right after.Then collect 50 coins to obtain the Tigress character.

Getting Jackal:Play the second level inthe ICE world.Near the end of this level is a stack of crates.The trapdoor should be on on one of them.Hit certain crates to turn the crate into a slantable walkway.After you enter the secret doorway,collect 50 coins to play as teh Jackal character.

Getting Sumner:The secret door is found in the first level in the BATTLEFIELD world,once you find the secret door,collect 50 coins to play as the Sumner character.

ICE AXE of UNTAR:Found in the TREASURY level of the CASTLE world.This weapon should be used against the Dragon in the Mountain World.
Does damage to teh dragon and freezes it for a time being as well.

SCIMITAR of RASHA: Found in the CAVERNS level of the MOUNTAIN world.This weapon should be used against the Chimera in the Castle World.
Kills teh Lion's head,so now all ya gotta deal with is the other two.

FLAME of TARKANA:Found in the SPIRE level of the TOWN world.This weapon should be used against the Yeti in the Ice World.
Does 1/4 damage to the Yeti before you fight it.

MARKER JAVELIN:Found in the FISSURE level of the ICE world.This weapon should be used against the Plauge beast in the Town world.
This weapon makes it so the Plague can't shapeshift.

HOLY SAVIOR:As stated in the manual on page 42...this weapon is found in the second level of the BATTLEFIELDS world.It is used against Skorne the 2nd time you fight him.(This weapon does no damage to him,it limits teh damage Skorne can do to you and he can't perform certain attacks.

High levels

When you start your game go to the cliffs in the mountain area there you will find a generator at the end of the level start shooting the monsters but don't destroy the generator keep shooting and you will keep gaining levels after a wile you will gain about 10 levels the generator will stop then destroy it then go to the level again and again when you get done you gain about as many levels you want and that's only the first world  there are more generators like that in almost all the worlds.

Beat dragon easy

Note: You must be using a wizard, jakal, or Sumner for this to work.
   When you face the dragon, start letting your turbo meter up. This will be easier if you have the Ice Axe of Untar. When it is in the yellow zone, try to get in close, and use the rock smash attack. It works differently every time, but 1-3 times is all it should take. Also, this is an easy way to gain experience.

Unlimited anti-death power

Beat Skorne in his throne at the Underworld stage(you need all rune stones to get to the Underworld)

Cheat mode
Enter "MESSIAH" as a new character name to activate all codes.

Level select
Enter "LOCK UP" as a new character name.

Level 99 character
Enter "GASAWAY" as a new character name.

Bonus levels
Enter "CRAZY" as a new character name.

Maximum combo power-ups
Enter "ICE" as a new character name.

Play as Sumner
Exit through the secret door in the last level of The Trench. Collect all coins in the bonus level to unlock the Sumner at the character selection screen.

Play as Minotaur
Go to the Cliff level in the Mountain Kingdom. Find all switches, then go to the area with the exit. Do not step on the exit portal. Instead, head down until you see a trapdoor with a star and crossbones. Step on it and you will be transported to a room with many coins. Collect all coins to unlock the Minotaur at the character selection screen.

Play as Falconess
Go to the bonus level in the Castle Tresurary World. Collect all coins to unlock the Falconess at the character selection screen. She has the same turbo attacks as the Valkyrie.

Play as Jackal
Play through the second level of the Ice World. There is a trapdoor at a dead end on top of the pile of crates at the end. The trapdoor is found by climbing the slanted crates to the top. Then, circle around until you get a chance to go back down. From there, climb the other set of slanted crates, located before the exit, and standing atop the trapdoor. Collect all coins inside the door to unlock the Jackal at the character selection screen. He is a more powerful form of the Wizard.

Play as Tigress
Go to the first town level. Find all main switches, then go to the portal. When you reach the portal, backtrack a small distance until you reach a hill with a chest, a switch, and death. Avoid death and hit the switch. Head in the position the switch is pointing and you will reach some zombies and the trap door. Stand on the trap door and collect all coins to unlock the Tigress at the character selection screen.

New weapon
Reach level 10 to receive a new weapon. Reach levels 50 and 99 for additional new weapons.

Get a familiar
Reach level 25 to receive a familiar; Valkyrie receives an Eagle, Wizard receives a Dragon, Archer receives a Butterfly, and Warrior receives a Dragonfly. Reach level 50 for a better familiar.

Permanent anti-death
Successfully complete the game to receive permanent anti-death, which allows you to steal health from death.

Hints


Easy way to get more experience
Find a place in any level where you can kill lots of enemies but the enemies have a hard time getting to you,let's say,halfway up a staircase.Then just keep killing enemies until you have as much experience as you want.NOTE: Don't destroy the generator the enemies are coming out of until you want to move on with the level.

Turn Death into food

If you know where Death is hidden, do not open the container. Instead, use a potion nearby and you should hear Death scream. Open the chest or barrel for a fruit.

Kill Death
Death will die when it takes 100 HP or is hit with a potion.

Stop time and explore
Reach the first end Boss and have a "Stop Time" item. As you are about to die vs. the Dragon, turn on the "Stop Time" item. Make sure it is still running when you lose the life. Choose to continue, and enter any level besides a Boss level. Then, time will be stopped in all levels, monsters will not regenerate, and nothing except poisoned food will harm your character. You will also have free reign on any item, however you will gain hardly any experience points.

The Ice Axe of Untar
The Ice Axe of Untar can be found in the Treasury level of the Valkyrie's Castle. This weapon is useful in defeating the Red Dragon in the Warrior's Mountain.

The Scimitar of Rasha
The Scimitar of Rasha can be found in the Cavern level of the Warrior's Mountain. This weapon is useful in defeating the Chimera in the Valkyrie's Castle.

The Flame of Tarkana
The Flame of Tarkana can be found in the Spire level of the Skytown. This weapon is useful in defeating the Yeti in the Ice Domain.

Marker's Javelin
Marker's Javelin can be found in the Fissure level of the Ice Domain. This weapon is useful in defeating The Plague in the Skytown.
