Reach High Up Gems

Reach High Up Gems
In order to grab the many health gems located in seemingly unreachable areas -- such as on the SS Anubis generators or on beams in the cave levels -- shoot them using your pistol or machine gun. If you hit them correctly, they will move and slide down to your level.
Selective Ammo
If you're running low on ammo for the Shotgun, Pistol or Machine Gun, select the weapon you want to refill (even when it's empty) when collecting weapons from dead enemies. This will automatically give ammo to the weapon you picked. This strategy is invaluable to keep your Machine Gun ammo count high.
Let Floyd Help
If you want to save on ammo, use Floyd -- even if a second player is not available. Find a hiding place, like a crate or a rock, stand behind it and press START on the second controller to activate Floyd (once you have put him together on Tawfret). Now shoot down your enemies from a safe distance, without wasting any ammo. Do the same if you want to take out crates. You can also use Floyd to snip ? even when you don't have sniper rifle ammo. When playing with two players, player one can hide behind a box and zoom in on far away enemies with the sniper rifle. Whether player one has a clear line of fire or not, Floyd's higher up position ensures that player two can do the work ? without wasting ammo.
Secret Flame Thrower Ammo
If you're low on Flame Thrower ammo, look for Tribals that carry lanterns. Shoot these Tribals once to make them drop their lanterns (be careful not to kill them), then pick them up to use the fire as Flame Thrower ammo
Jetpack Tip
Another little feature not mentioned in the manual: use the C Down button to hover in place when using the jetpacks. It only uses half the fuel.

Special Item Locations
Jet Force Gemini contains a number of special items in addition to the regular power-ups such as gems, backpacks and Gemini Holders. This listing tells you what the items can be used for and where to find them.

Fish Food
Where: Goldwood, first area after landing pad (treasure chest)
One of the first secrets in the game can be accessed right from the Goldwood entry area, even before you enter the Outset zone. Look for a secret passage near the right rock wall. Behind it, you will find the fishpond and a treasure box that contains fish food. Although it's listed among your weapons, the fish food is hardly lethal. You can use the fish food to feed the fishes (duh) or other hungry creatures, such as the creepy maggots or Flopsy the dog (which keeps them from attacking you). The food can also be used to distract your enemy or to detonate proximity mines without wasting any ammo.

Ear Plugs
Where: SS Anubis, Hold (Floyd Mission)
The ear plugs are the perfect protection for sensitive ears, especially when around noisy Tribals ? but the Jet Force team can't use them. To get the ear plugs, get a Gold or Expert rating in the Floyd mission in the Hold area of the SS Anubis. Once you have access to the Water Ruin stage, bring the Ear Plugs to Ivana the Bear.

Pants
Where: Tawfret, Bridge (on top of a tree)
What a charming place to forget one's shorts... In this desolate swamp haunted by zombie drones and giant bettles, a pair of shorts hangs from a tree. Bring them to their rightful owner, Gimlet, who awaits in the same stage.

Crowbar
Where: Tawfret, Bridge (from Gimlet)
This handy tool lets you open the heavy trap doors on Tawfret and Walkway. To get it, bring the pants back to Gimlet.

Jeff & Barry II Arcade Chip
Where: Ichor, Military Base (Floyd Mission)
Only if you have found this circuit board can you play the Jeff & Barry II racing game in the nightclub arcade on Ichor (Jeff & Barry I can be played without it). Get a Gold rating in the Ichor Military Base Floyd Mission.

Specialist Magazine
Where: Eschebone, Cortex
Cough. Specialist magazine, eh? We know where you can find it ? if you want it... Go to Eschebone's Cortex stage to find it, then bring it to Fernando who is hanging out on Rith Essa (Bluff). Fernando will give you the Mine Key in return for the... uh... inspiration literature.

Mine Key
Where: Rith Essa, Bluff
You need this key in order to get into the Rith Essa mines. Once you've got the Specialist Magazine from Eschebone, visit Fernando and trade it against the key.

Gold Bars
Where: Celulean, Dune
Look for three gold bars in the Cerulean outdoor area. You can use them as payment for Fish Face's Tri-Rocket Launcher in the same level.

Plasma Shotgun as a Flashlight
The plasma shotgun can be used as a flashlight in dark areas. Simply charge up the shotgun and view the area from a first person perspective. This can be useful when looking for secrets in dark areas.
Hear Lupus Howl
To hear Lupus howl press c-down while playing as him on the ground.
Kill The Fish in Goldwood
Sick of just feeding the fish? Feed em' explosives! Go to the place were you find the Shurikens, but don't go inside. Around the door there is a pond with fish in it. It is deep enough for them to swim in and shallow enough for your bombs to go into. Try remote mines. Also, make sure to get close enough so that you blow them up.
Remote mine warning
In multiplayer mode, if you are near a remote mine, you will continueosly hear a very soft buzzing sound, so beware of the buzz.
Tips for the Final Boss
The Final Mizar on the Asteroid is easily the toughest, cheapest Boss in Jet Force Gemini - you'll no doubt die many, many times facing him. There is a trick, though - although it's not foolproof, it's a big help. To do this trick, you need to have at least 40 max Tri-Rockets with Juno. For defeating this Boss, you'd usually fire a Homing Missile when Mizar turns his back, because it almost always hits. Unfortunately, it's also weak, and it can take up to 21+ of these hits to get Mizar to go to this next phase. The trick is to use the Tri-Rocket Launcher when Mizar is flying toward you to do his Fire Claw attack (the one that creates the shockwave). Aim high and shoot once straight into Mizar's body as he comes toward you, and you'll almost always hit AND do more damage, too. If done right, this can cut the hits you need to get him down to his next phase by half.

Once he's in his next phase (on the ground with you), start pounding his right (your right) arm with the TRL, until it explodes in a bloody mess; then do the same with the left arm; then do the same with the head, and he's through. Don't forget, Mizar also attacks you too, so here are some tips in avoiding his attacks.

Meteor Barrage - When Mizar uses the Meteor attack, having an extra friend around to control Floyd and help you destroy meteors while at the same time conserving machine gun ammo, can be a great help. Not only do you avoid running out of ammo, which is easy to do, even with 900 rounds, but you also get hit fewer times!

Fire Claw - Mizar charges the platform you're on and causes a shockwave which takes 1-3 HP of damage. To avoid this, go to the far left or right of the platform and wait until Mizar is just about to strike the ground, and strafe in the opposite direction. The shockwave isn't large enough to cover the platform and so it will miss you.

Eye Laser - Mizar fires two purple lasers from his eyes three times at you. Simply strafe to the left or right to avoid. Easy. One of these his can take 1-2 HP of damage.

Ice Breath - Mizar blows a huge breath of cold air at you. Very easy - just strafe right through it and it probably won't do anything. If it does, it will only do 1 HP of damage.

Lightning Cord - The most lethal of Mizar's attacks and the hardest to avoid. Mizar guides a cord of electricity along the platform at varying speeds. Being struck by this cord for half a second depletes 2-3 HP; being stuck in it for any longer than that depletes 1-2 whole life BARS, if not more. The only way to avoid this is to play jump-rope with Mizar. Carefully jump the cord as he guides it back and forth. If you're VERY good and VERY lucky, you'll take minimal damage. Luckily, once in his second phase, Mizar doesn't use this attack any more.

Free weapons and items
At the character selection screen press the analog stick (or joystick) right 3 times, then move left to highlight and select Lupus. When the game begins hit c-right 3 times, c-left once, c-right 2 times, and c-up 3 times. If you do it right, you will hear Lupus barking or howling. Press the A button to cycle through available weapons and items, then press the B button to drop the item in front of you.
Floyd's Colors Translation.
This isn't really a code but, it's neat. If you watch Floyd going into an unknown area you'll notice that his vents change color. Red means that there are enemies in the room. Blue usually means there is a puzzle. No color means that the room is just a decoration.

Invincibility in Multiplayer mode
Ok, to get this code to work, S.S. Anubis stage is the best. When standing in front of the Invincibility icon (don't get it), Let a person kill you so you fall back on it. You will have the shield on you until you press A. Once you have pressed A, your enemy will not be able to lock on you or hurt you until you get another Invincibility icon, this will be turned off.
Jetpack with Lupus
When playing with Lupus you can use the jetpack fuel to complete missions that require Juno or Vela. All you do is walk onto the fuel pad, wait for Lupus to fuel up and play like he's Vela or Juno.

Break Fall
Any veteran Mario or Banjo-Kazooie player will have already figured this one out. Falling from high places causes your character to take damage, but you can break your fall with the help of Lupus' rocket paws or Vela and Juno's jetpacks (only if you have fuel, in the case of Vela and Juno).
Arranging Weapons
Tired of looking through all your weapons just to find one of them? Well this should help. Pause your game and select the weapons icon. Once there hold Z and a menu will appear. Now arrange them with the control pad next to the joystick. That should solve the problem.

Change Characters on Map Screen
Not really a gameplay tip ? but this feature isn't mentioned in the manual, so we figured we should include it. There is no need to go to the Character Screen if you need to quickly change characters when selecting a new world to fly to. You can change your character on the map screen, too. Simply use the C Buttons to switch the player icons in the corner until you've got the character you want
Cheat mode options
Collect the indicated number of ant heads to unlock a new option at the Cheat menu.

Cheat mode Ant heads

Jet Force Kids mode * 200
Ants Into Pants mode ** 300

Tawfret Castle Tip
As soon as you approach the Tawfret Castle, you are bombarded with enemy sniper fire, airborne attacks, and missles from the castle towers. If you stay still for more than a couple seconds, you're missle bait. An easy way to take out the Cyborg Drones on the tower is to let them kill themselves. If you line yourself up with the edges on the tower, their missles will explode in front of them and they take themselves out.

Homing Missle Launcher location

Its me again, just found the location of the most powerful gun in the game!! The HOMING MISSILE LAUNCHER!!!!  To find it, you must go to the ss anubis and climb the boxes you climbed to find the PLasma Shotgun.  then, climb the baxes behind it and go in the door on the upper level.  Continue through the depository of the ss anubis, enter the room with your ship, rescue all or all of the tribals you can find, because some are hidden in the darkness of the room for a total of nine tribals, enter your ship and you will be whisked away to the peak walkway.  Walk up to the building, destroy all of the soldier drones guarding the area, and enter, inside is a trapdoor that leads to two tribals and a crapload of shield wielding soldier drones.  don't go down there just yet.  also in the room is a diamond gezzer station, and located in the corner are the HOMING MISSLES!!! Thank you and enjoy!!!

Here are some locations of weapons for Vela.

pistol- start with

grenades- in the first room you start in in Sekhmet.

Machine Gun- IN the first room with two locks that must be opened by destroying all drones, destroy the first wave of drones, and a door will open, don't enter it yet, pick off all the snipers, and the new wave of soldier drones.  the second door will open, allowing you to get the machine gun, which will allow you too open the target lock in the next drone room which will contain the PLASMA SHOTGUN!!!!  Fishface will give you the red key, AND THEN YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PROCEED TO THE docking bay, which i havent found yet ( shut up, i am at mizars palace with juno.)

Get homing missile launcher(Vela)

Go to Cerulean and go into the room with all the stalagmites, a yellow key door, and the lifeforce door.As soon as you enter, stay on the left wall and keep going until you find a cave entrance.Go in there and you shoul see a weapon chest, gemini capacity increaser, four Mizar Tokens, and a full machine gun ammo box.

Break Lupus's Big Falls

Playing as Lupus, when you fall, tap up c to make him hover for a little bit. Let him fall some more, than tap up c again. Do this over and over until you land! Note: This won't work if you fall off a cliff.

Exploding Drones

Here's a easy way to kill the drones especially sniper drones. When they pull out a grenade shoot then in the hand to blow up the grenade in his hand, or sometimes when you shoot him he'll hold on to the grenade till it blows:)

How to get Flamethrower Ammo

To get flamethrower ammo anywhere you want, find a tribal with a lantern.  Some places are the Gem Quarry and Mizar's Palace.  Shoot the tribal once in the foot, or kill it even though it's better if you don't, and then pick up the lantern that it dropped.  This serves as flamethrower ammo.

Homming missile launcher for lupus!!

Go to Rita Essa, go to the area where there is a water fall and a door where you need a blue key. To your right there should be a ramp. Go up the ramp to the first turn and look to the water fall and you should see a Gemini Capasity increase. Hover over to it and you should see a cave opening. Go in and then you should see a box and a few coins open the boxe and that's where the missiles are!! have fun

Unlimited Mizar Tokens

First start a new game and then go thru the first door you see. This door is located behind Magnus. Then go to the right. There should be a door. This door is not along the path.Go thru it and there should be 5 Mizar tokens. collect them and exit thru the same door.Go back in and tere should be five more!Repeat this until you have as many as you want.Have fun impresing your friends!

More Unlimited Mizar Tokens

You should know about the other tip to get unlimited  mizar tokens but this is another place where you keep getting 12 Mizar tokens at a time. These Toakens are also in goldwood(the first level) but you cant get to them before you have either cluster bombs, the tri-rocket launcher, or the homing missle launcher. After you get one of these three go back to goldwood.
1. go past king Jeff's hut.
2. keep on going through the level until you get to the place where you have to destroy all of the drones and sniper drones to open the tunnels and the life force door.
3. Kill all of the drones in the area and rescue all of the tribals.
4. Look around, there should be two huts with boarded up doors.
5. Blow up the boards covering the entrances to the huts.
6. From the angle of the way you came from to get to that area, the hut on the left is the one you should go in first.
7. Once you are in you should see 12 Mizar tokens. You can collect them and then come back in and get more and more and more.
8. Just so's you know, in the other hut is a computer that can refiil your health, or give you an ammo fill up.

               GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!

Get Tribal Heads

This trick should enable you to get more tribal heads in JFG!  Use the sniper rifle when shooting the poor tribals.  See how many tribal heads you can get to acquire cheats!

Ecsbone Cheat

At Ecsbone (the 3rd of the Lupes levels)In the 3rd room to get into the Big Monster Mouth reguarly is to throw a grenade in it's
mouth but here is a easier way:If you are Lupes You can use your hover boots to go in.
NOTE:You have to jump REALLY high to make it
NOTE:If you are Juno or Vela you have to use
the grenade way.

How to get the Shocker

Go to the *Spawnship* and to the section with the room filled with lava there is a bridge with two missing parts on it. There is a Building that looks like a generator, at the back their is a door go into it and there is a chest, open it and there is a shocker. You get the shocker this way with Juno and Lupus.
To get it with Vela enter the room with the elevator, go up the elevator into the door, you should end up on a bridge with flying droids, jump off the bridge into the water below, go into the deep water were there is a door. You end up in room with some droids, kill them end go into the life force door. The next room has some droids with shields kill them preferably with a tri-rocket launcher and then go into the life force door. The next room has a chest with a shocker in it in the room with 3 tribals.

A lot of people have asked me how to get the last spaceship piece after you beat Mizar.  Well it's really annoying because you have to save every tribal in the game to recieve the last spaceship piece so that you can beat the game!
note:  it will probably take you a while so get over it!

Jump up to the walkway and you will see a door that requires the yellow key. You will then enter a high platform and you will see a door. Go through it. Then a big block maze will slow you down. But at the end you will go through a door. You will see your ship and a lot of Tribals. After you collect the Tribals, go to your ship and then you can go to the level called the Walk Through. There you will get a few weapons such as Homing Missiles.
Now you get that level on your map.

Easy Way to Beat First Mizar

When you battle the first Mizar, The most easiest and simplest way to beat him is to keep side stepping (C-Left and C-Right) while shooting him directly in the face.

(THE MACHINE GUN USUALLY WORKS BEST BECAUSE IT SHOOTS FAST)

Get Water Ruin (level)

First, go to Secmet with Juno, having the red and green keys. Enter the door the does not need a key. You will be on a walkway. Follow it to the red key door.GO in. Find the jetpack fuel and fill up! Then fly to the dark walkway. Go to your left and pass the 2 doors. Go in the green key door. Go down the road until you find a walkway on the right (do not go in the door on the end of the walkway). Get in your ship and BOOM!!! Your in the water ruin! (don't shoot anything here.)

How To Get The Flamethrower

Go to the level Spacestation, and instead of going straight right when you get there you should drop down the hole where your ship is parked. (note the lava edged sides of the burnt metal can't hurt you) when you drop down you should look to your right ,go straight,  jump on the boxes to get up the holes, keep on going (watch out for the edge) until you see a weapon holding case and grab the flamethrower.  When you shoot an enemy they will go crazy and shoot back at you.

When you start, hit C-right, C-right, C-right, C-left, C-right, C-right, C-up, C-up, C-up. If you do it correctly you will hear a noise that sounds like Lupas barking but he won't be moving. To use this cheat, after the bark, just go through the items and weapons you want to change into by tapping A. Hit A once, it changes, hit A again, it changes. just cycle through till you have found what you want. Then hit B to place that object/item where Lupas is standing.

Walk up to the building, destroy all of the soldier drones guarding the area, and enter, inside is a trapdoor that leads to two tribals and a crapload of shield wielding soldier drones. don't go down there just yet. also in the room is a diamond gezzer station, and located in the corner are the Homing missles!

Floyd's parts are in the very area that you meet him. One part is to the left of the cathedral/church, on the platform. After collecting that part, keep going, jump on the church, go to the left, go up the stairs, move to the fireplace, and jump in to reach a sewer. Take a right hand turn to enter a room. Choose the middle path to end up in a room with sparkling helicopter blades. Leave the sewer and locate a large building) like the church) with a metal door. Use Tri Rockets on it, enter the sewer again, and walk down the path to find another leg part.

Then dive as Vela into the cave under the largest island. The nitrogen tank and some weapon upgrades will be on the table.

Tips for the Final Boss:

Meteor Barrage:
When Mizar uses the Meteor attack, having an extra friend around to control Floyd and help you destroy meteors while at the same time conserving machine gun ammo, can be a great help. Not only do you avoid running out of ammo, which is easy to do, even with 900 rounds, but you also get hit fewer times!

Fire Claw:
Mizar charges the platform you're on and causes a shockwave which takes 1-3 HP of damage. To avoid this, go to the far left or right of the platform and wait until Mizar is just about to strike the ground, and strafe in the opposite direction. The shockwave isn't large enough to cover the platform and so it will miss you.

Eye Laser:
Mizar fires two purple lasers from his eyes three times at you. Simply strafe to the left or right to avoid. Easy. One of these his can take 1-2 HP of damage.

Ice Breath:
Mizar blows a huge breath of cold air at you. Very easy - just strafe right through it and it probably won't do anything. If it does, it will only do 1 HP of damage.

Lightning Cord:
The most lethal of Mizar's attacks and the hardest to avoid.

Ship Part Locations:
Note: These are in exact order you see in menu. Power cell: Give ear plugs to bear in the water ruins
Oxygen tank: At the top of the Cortex on Echobone
Stabilizer: Free all tribals
Juno's hatch key: Spawnship-In lava tunnel
Cargobay key: Under water below tree in Tawfret
Deflector shield: Turn into tribal at the Rith Essa mine and receive from minor boss
Vela's hatch key: Receive at the Lodge in Goldwood
Radar Dish: Fill generator at the Gem Quarry and talk to Magnus.
Fin: Talk to guy in the SS Anubies passageway Lupus's Hatch key:At Inchor
Fuse: Place first in the Mizar Palace Race Nitrogen tank:At the Under water ruins(Easy)
