The video game world can be succinctly divided into two categories: Madden fans and Madden haters. Well haters, you don't have many options this year. Since EA bought the exclusive NFL license, it looks like you're stuck with the big, big man. Welcome. It'll be fun.

EA has implemented several big changes this year, so it's an even playing field for everyone. Vision and precision passing will change the way you play Madden forever. Whether you're a reluctant convert to Madden NFL 06 or you've been playing this series for years, this guide has the strategies to help you win. Deep down, we all know that it doesn't matter which game of football you play, it matters how much you win by. With our help, you'll be knocking the helmets off of everyone all across the country.

Interview questions
In NFL Superstar, choose your answers to interview questions wisely. The answers will affect your personality type and most endorsement companies want a player with a more conservative personality type, such as "Team Leader" or "Professional".

Go to My Madden at the menu, select My Madden, then go to Madden Cards. Select Madden Codes. Enter one of the following case-sensitive codes to unlock the corresponding cheat:

NFL Superstar mode: New apartment:
If you win a Super Bowl and are inducted to the Pro Bowl, you will move into a new apartment.

NFL Superstar mode: Switching teams:
When you become a key player to a team, you can upgrade to an excellent agent. Then, after two seasons you can resign with almost any team you desire

Sign created player with high attributes for three years:
When you create a player, make him a free agent. Then, get his attributes up to 75. Next, sign the player for any team desired. Go to that team's rosters and edit his attributes. You can make it as high as 99. When you go to franchise mode with
the team the player you created will be on the team with a contract
for three years.

NFL Superstar mode: Switching teams:
When you become a key player to a team, you can upgrade to an excellent agent. Then, after two seasons you can resign with almost any team you desire.

NFL Superstar mode: Easy practice points:
Create someone as a QB, then go into a practice and select a HB Swing. Have the defense do FG Block. When you say hike, lob the pass to your RB, He will score a touchdown for 48 points every time.

Pick a formation with at least three receivers, Then, choose a play that has an inside receiver doing a slant or short post. Pick the defense 4-3 Engage Eight or 3-4 renegade. Simply throw the ball to your slanting receiver every time. He will be wide open and get tackled for 17 to 48 points per play.

NFL Superstar mode: Increased stats:
You can get your Overall, Awareness and Stamina up in practice mode by having your superstar get practice points by getting a big gain on offense with your superstar, or creating s big loss with your superstar on defense. You also can get your stats up by getting an agent that has the Performance Institute and get a medal on it:

Bronze: 3 points
Silver: 4 points
Gold: 5 points

Note: Your stats are not permanent. They will be reset after each game. You must do the practices and Performance Institute again to get them back up.

Punting:
Due to the fact that the punt blockers do not like to block very much, you should select the "Punt Block" formation instead of any other punt return formation. With the "Punt Block" formation, the punting team will not be spread out, therefore allowing your blockers to somewhat block for you; which in turn will give you more time to field the ball and have a little space to start something big.

Touchdown celebrations:
When you play as the Eagles against the Ravens and score a touchdown with T.O., dive in the endzone by pressing X. He will do a Ray Lewis dance in the endzone as a celebration.

Sign created player with high attributes for three years:
When you create a player, make him a free agent. Then, get his attributes up to 75. Next, sign the player for any team desired. Go to that team's rosters and edit his attributes. You can make it as high as 99. When you go to franchise mode with the team the player you created will be on the team with a contract for three years.

Create low paid all-star QB:
Create a punter or kicker with all his attributes at maximum, including passing. You will sign him for a low salary simply because he is a kicker. Then, set him as the starting quarterback on the depth charts as the season begins. You will now have the best kicker/punter and QB in the league. You may also maximize all passing attributes and take the kicking attributes down to sign him at an even lower price. This is most recommended if you only rarely kick.

Antonio Gates Has 0 TDs:
Look in the Antonio Gates Player Information screen. It shows his receptions, rec yards, etc. However, they show that Gates had 0 TDs. Gates set the record for TDs by a Tight End with 13.

Fake Deuce McCallister stats:
When your game is loading you will see a player and their 2004 stats while you are waiting. Once you see Deuce McCallister, it shows that he had 1600+ yards rushing. However, Deuce had 1074yards rushing last year (2004).

Bonus agent:
Load a player from NCAA Football 06 or NFL Street 2 into NFL Superstar mode to unlock Dan Baker, an agent who has access to the Performance Institute.

Go to "My Madden" option at the main menu. Select the "Madden Cards" option, then choose "Madden Codes" to enter a code:

The following codes were acquired by Cheat Planet from EA!

2W4P9T - 1st and 15 bronze
This card requires your opponent to get 15 yards to reach a first down for one drive.

2Y7L8B - 1st and 5 bronze
When this card is played, your first down yards to go will be set to 5 for one play.

2Z2F4H - Unforced bronze
When this card is played, your opponent will fumble every time he tries to juke for 1 play.

3D3Q3P - Extra Credit bronze
This card awards 2 points for every interception and 1 point for every sack.

3D8X6T - Tight Fit bronze
When this card is played, your opponent's uprights will be made very narrow for 1 play.

3E9R4V - 5th down bronze
When this card is played, you will get 5 downs to make a first (one use).

3F9G4J - 3rd down bronze
When this card is played, your opponent will only get 3 downs to make a first.

3H3U7F - Human Plow bronze
When this card is played, your Broken Tackles will increase by 25% for the game.

When this card is played, your diving distance increases by 25% for the game.

Fast superstar training camp points

This is for defense superstars only . Once you get to training camp for the defensive play pick the dime package and then pick prevent . For the offense find any singleback play that has three wide recievers . Stay on the MLB and watch the middle and you should get a sack or a pick almost every time .

Sacks : 15 points
P picks : 20 points plus 1 point for every yard returned
Incomplete passes : 10 points

-1 point for every yard they gain on you .
- 50 for touchdowns they gain on you (that's - 30 for yards and - 20 for the touchdown)

Import Players

If you have a save game for NFL Street 2 or NCAA 06 you can import your created player for Madden 06 during the new NFL Superstar Mode. Your imported player will be much better than a standard rookie.

IQ Test

When taking IQ test on Madden 2006 answer C for all answers that should give you a bad grade but when you enter the draft you will be a low pick which will mean you'll get picked by a good team.

Best Possible NFL Superstar

When choosing your superstars stats do not aoutomatically make him 100% beefed up. Teams don't like that. Instead watch the bar on the bottom and put each stat at the point where they make it the highest possible. (TIP: No fat is always good!)

Easier Sacks

First pause the game and go into settings, then go to penalties and switch off offfsides. Start playing your game and run at the line of scrimmage and you'll notice you don't go anywhere. When the QB says hike you'll shoot off the line right at the quarterback (only works on defense.)

Cheap Created Players

Create your player but make him very bad then sign him to a long term deal with your team. After he signs, say for 7 years at 500k a year, go back and edit him to be a 100 in each catagory. Now he's the best player in the game and cheapest. Great for franchise mode.

Super Star Help

If you didnt import a player from NCAA '06, you may think you are out of luck, but I have a few tips for the new superstar. The most important things for a new superstar is hiring a good agent, having good parents (dna), and your appearance. Here are some tips for the following.

1. Your Parents (DNA): To get the best players, you need to have good parents. The number one thing you want is an NFL playing father. I try to get a hall of fame father or a pro bowl father. Also, you want both of your parents to have high IQ's. Without high IQ's, your awareness and other mental stats will be very low. NOTE: Make sure to read the 4 little clipped notes at the top by your perferred position. If you had an NFL playing WR, it might say that your dad couldn't catch a pass. A good position to start out with is Running Back. Most teams in the NFL need one now, and you most likely will start. (I got drafted by the Bears and I'm starting in front of Cedric Benson.)

2. Having a good agent: The best agent by far for a new super star is Danny C. By the numbers, he is pretty good. To get him, you must answer exactly like this in the interview.

Q1. What is your favorite before-the-game meal?
A. Wherever we are eating, me and my teammates are eating together.

Q2. What other position besides _____ would you like to play?
A. (any answer is acceptable)

Q3. What is the stadium you most look forward to playing in?
A. Lambeau Field. A lot of history there.

These quiz answers are not completely accurate, but for most positions you can get Danny if you answer this way.

3. Appearance: Although you might think this is pretty stupid, it is one of the key aspects to gaining stardom. A quick way to raise this attribute without getting a higher risk for injury etc., after the draft, go to the mirror and choose the revolution helmet. That raised my appearance an entire color level. There's also Eye Paint, Nasal Strips, Gloves, Tapes, Wristbands, etc. for both arms, and there is a lot more. Another tip: don't get tatoos. Some are fine, but most of them aren't. Also, don't get a crazy cut from Larry at the Barber Shop. That also turns off fans. The more popularity you recieve, there is a better chance of getting a better agent.

Easy Practice Points - QB or WR

If your a QB in Superstar mode, and you need to get your ratings up, listen up. during the season when you go to practice, put the defense on FG block and the offense on shotgun hail mary or a route to make your WR go deep. Pass quickly before the rusah comes though. Keep doing this till your satisfied. Your ratings will go up quickly if you do this.

Easy Practice Points - Defense

This works for defense only, especially if your NFL super star is a MLB. When you're choosing plays, for defense choose MLB Blitz and for offense choose WR reverse. This is an easy play and you get 15 points every time you tackle the WR.

Gold in every Training Camp in Franchise Mode

When in training camp in the offseason play each drill one-by-one. after getting gold save and do next drill. If you don't get a gold or desired points don't save, but quit franchise mode and go to main Madden menu. Then load your franchise mode again and you shoud be able to try the drill again. ONLY WORKS IF AUTOSAVE IS DISABLED!

Good Yardage on Kick Returns

When you are about to return a kick, go straight for the middle and let your blockers pick up as many men as possible, then when you see a decent sized hole, break off and sprint. Don't try to do too many jukes because it slows your returner down and gives the kickoff team more time to tackle you. This hint works, as i get to the 37-40 yard line every time and 1 in 7 returns go past the 50 or for a touchdown.

Easy Madden Tokens

Do the 2-minute drill under mini-games. Use 4 players and pick your opponent as an NFL Europe team, then pick all of the teams under your profile and use Quarterbacks that have a good QB Vision. Run Streak plays on offense, Touchdown almost every play!
