Note: Make a back up of the file being edited, or you may have to reinstall the game.

Ammo Limit Chage: Go into SwatEquipment.ini in your Swat directory. Then, go down to the weapons. Go to where it says "MagazineSize=(Number)". Set the number to a million or two, to get much ammo. This doesen't work on the Macineguns, only on Shotguns, Pistols, and the Tazer.

Change, add, or remove ammo types: Let's say you want to add more ammo-types to the Colt Carbine M4A1. Go down to the place where it says "PlayerAmmoOption=SwatAmmo.M4A1MG_JHP". Press enter, and add a new ammo option, for example "PlayerAmmoOption=SwatAmmo.AK47MG_FMJ".

Make weapons stronger: Go down to the places where it says "OverrideArmDamageModifier=(Number)", or something like that. Change the number to something like "99". Then, your gun will most probably kill a human, even if you hit him in the arm.

Make more fire modes: Go down to where it says "AvailableFireMode=FireMode_Auto". This means that this weapon can shoot automatic. Now, copy and paste it, and change "Auto" to "Single", "Burst", and "Semi". Then, you can shoot 1 single shot at a time, burst-shots, and Semi-automatic.

Change Burst-Shots fire-rate: Go down to where it says "BurstRateFactor=(Number)", and change the number to "4" or something. Just make sure it is higher than the current value.

Change shots fired per burst: Go down to where it says "BurstShotCount=(Number)", and change the Number to the number of bullets you want to be shot (Like 3 shots, 10 shots, etc).

Range increase: If you want to change how far your bullets shall fly, change "Range=(Number)" to something over "4000".

Change accuracy: To set the accuracy of your weapon more secure, use the "WalkingAimError=(Number)". It means how bad accuracy u should have. If you change the number to "0", you should have perfect accuracy. NOTE: As you see this is "WALKINGAimError", which means that this only is for the walking. You must Change "StandingAimError=" to "0", for having perfect accuracy/aim when you stand, and the others too. The "Penalties", under "Instaneus penalties" must all be set to "0", except for one. The "LookAimErrorPenaltyFactor=(Number)" must NOT be changed to "0". This should be "0.000125". I think that if you change this to "0", it will cause a bug.

I'd like to apologize for my criticism, but obviously the writer of the modification tutorial, Diablodoc, did some mistakes.

MagazineSize: Only works for weapons that don't use clips. Pumpguns, the pepperball gun, the tazer. No pistols, since they use predefined clips.

MagazineSize edit warning: If you start to change this value, you might encounter sudden magazine emptiness. The game always uses the ammo count predefined in SwatAmmo.u, so your 50000 shot pepperball gun may suddenly have NO AMMO AT ALL.

Making Weapons stronger: For that, leave out the "OverrideArmDamageModifier", just change the "MuzzleVelocity" to a higher value. The game calculates the damage mostly from bullet mass and bullet speed.

More Fire Modes: There is no "Semi", Semi is "Single". So you can add
"AvailableFireMode=FireMode_Single"
"AvailableFireMode=FireMode_Burst" ...and
"AvailableFireMode=FireMode_Auto".

Number of Shots per Burst: The number of shots per burst shouldn't be too high if you don't change the recoil and the ammunition.

Auto/Burst Fire Speed: "BurstRateFactor" is the relative speed in comparison to the AK47. "1.0" means rapid fire, "0.1" is very slow and "10.0" is a rate you cannot control.

Range: This doesn't really affect the gameplay, since "Range=4000" is a very long distance. But if you, for instance, change the range of the tazer from about 300 to 1000, you'll have the effect.

Accuracy: This is made up into some parts. There is crosshair accuracy and recoil:

ACCURACY:
- MaxAimError is your maximum crosshair spread. On "0" you won't miss. "60" is quite much.

- LargeAimErrorRecoveryRate and SmallAimErrorRecoveryRate affects your reticule shrinking to regain accuracy. If you have an AimError (see above), this is how fast your crosshair gets smaller. Higher values are better. Large is when the crosshair is bigger than the next value ...

- AimErrorBreakingPoint determines how big your crosshair must be to be "small" or "large". For weapons you want to aim with like real rifles, set the value to 2-4 and change the AimErrorRecoveryRate: large to a higher value, small to a lower one.

- StandingAimError is how well you aim when standing. "0" is perfect. "2" pretty much sucks.

- WalkingAimError is the above value but when walking. Should be higher than StandingAimError, if you want any semblance of reality.

- RunningAimError. If your weapon is very light and you want to shoot it while running, reduce the value.

- CrouchingAimError. Compare to StandingAimError and change it as you see fit.

Penalties are bad aim you get when doing something special. They are related to accuracy.

- EquippedAimErrorPenalty is when you first select a gun, how bad your first shot will be.

- StandToWalkAimErrorPenalty. When you START walking, how your crosshair gets bigger.

- WalkToRunAimErrorPenalty. When you start running... see above. These values should not be much higher than the AimErrors. "5" is enough.

- DamagedAimErrorPenalty. If you suffer damage your aim is affected thusly.

- FiredAimErrorPenalty. Similar to recoil. If you fire your gun, the crosshair becomes larger by this value.

- InjuredAimErrorPenalty. Permanent accrued value. When you get hit, especially in the arms, how bad your aim will be from that moment on (with every hit).

- MaxInjuredAimErrorPenalty. Check with the above value. The maximum bad aim from hitzone wounds.

- MaxLookAimErrorPenalty. If you look around very quickly, how big your crosshair can become.

- LookAimErrorPenaltyFactor=0.000125. How fast your crosshair gets bigger by looking around. CAN BE changed to for example "0.000065", I tried, but be careful!

RECOIL:
- RecoilBackDuration. Very low value. The time your gun needs to move up after it has been fired. Lower value: Harder recoil, just looks better.

- RecoilForeDuration. This determines how fast your gun will calm down to its original position. "0" means no recoil. "10" means 10 seconds of waiting patiently.

- RecoilMagnitude. This is the actual recoil. "0" means no recoil, "200" is common, "1500" is for recoil fans and "9999999" makes you look at the ceiling.

Animation Speed
This is the multiplicator for the animation speed. Feel free to add the parameters below to each and every weapon or item. Higher Animation rates make the optiwand faster or increase the Semi-Automatic fire rate (Colt Python for example).

As always, "1" is default. "3" is very fast.

- EquipAnimationRate. How fast your weapon will get deployed.

- UnequipAnimationRate. How fast you holster it.

- UseAnimationRate. How fast you use it (optiwand, single shot weapons...)

- ReloadAnimationRate. How fast you reload.

Flashlight:
- HasAttachedFlashlight=true. Insert this to AK, Python etc. to have a flashlight on them. Doesn't look perfect, but hey, it works and is better than Doom 3!

Zoom:
- ZoomedFOV. The angle your field of view will be from your original perspective. 90 is pretty default, 20 means very far zooming.

- ZoomTime. The seconds you need to zoom in or out. "0.1" is quite immediately, "1.5" takes some time. Try to experiment a bit, you have saved your stuff, I guess. Stinger and flashbang grenades may become deadly weapons, if you want them to be so.

< SkeletalRegionInformation.ini >

This is your hitbox file. If you want to make headshots lethal (or only headshots), if you want to remove the speed penalty you get when hit in the legs, this is where you go. The values count for YOU AND THE ENEMY!
There are 6 hitboxes, obviously.

- DamageModifier=(Min=XXX,Max=YYY). This is the damage multiplicator for specific hitboxes. E.g., if you want to add some more punch to arm hits, change the value below both arms to Min=1.0,Max=1.5.

"0" means no damage. Enemies, too.

- AimErrorPenalty=(Min=XXX,Max=YYY). This determines how bad the aim becomes after you get shot in this specific region. Setting this to "0" will leave the weapon accuracy as it is, even if your arms are shot to pieces.

- LimpModifier=(Min=XXX,Max=YYY). This is how slow you will become after being shot. "0" means you never lose your speed, but so do enemies.

< SwatGame.ini >

Look for

SPDamageModifierEasy=XXX;

SPDamageModifierNormal=XXX;

SPDamageModifierHard=XXX;

SPDamageModifierElite=XXX;

MPDamageModifier=XXX; and

COOPDamageModifier=XXX;.

SP means singleplayer, MP is deathmatch and stuff, COOP is singleplayer with other players. Decrease the values to almost zero and bullets won't affect you much.

Note for PC-idiots -- this is not cheating since a player with changed MP values cannot play a multiplayer game without the host and other players with the same values (the offending player is kicked). However, you can use the tweaked values for "fake MP" play against bots.

Developer Tip 1
The optiwand is a critical tool. If you do not plan to carry a wand, it is a good idea to make sure more than one AI officer is carrying an optiwand in case one with the wand is incapacitated during a mission.

Developer Tip 2
It is a good idea to optiwand around blind corners. Your AI officers can also be ordered to optiwand around most corners.

Developer Tip 3
Increasing the difficulty will also increase the morale of suspects and civilians.

Developer Tip 4
Civilians or suspects who are not compliant at first can be made to comply using non lethal weapons such as the less-lethal shotgun, taser, or grenades. An effective way to make suspects and civilians comply is to shoot them with a lethal weapon in a non-lethal area such as in the leg or the arm. However, you will achieve higher scores for not injuring civilians or suspects.

Developer Tip 5
Any suspects caught behind a door that is being blown by C2 will be momentarily stunned.

Developer Tip 6
Crouching, moving slowly, and firing in short bursts keeps the targeting reticule tight and will make your shots more accurate.

Invincibility, Cursor Accuracy, and Injury

Browse to the game directory in Windows Explorer. You're looking for the "System" folder where the executable and .ini files are located. A common file path should look like this:

C:Program FilesSierraSWAT 4ContentSystem

Or whatever drive and/or directory you installed the game at. You'll need to back up 3 files before we begin, just in case you make a mistake or want to go back to the way the game is supposed to be played. Stick 'em someplace safe. The files are:

SkeletalRegionInformation.ini
SwatGame.ini
SwatEquipment.ini

These three files do different things, so I'll break the hacks down one by one.

Invincibility
Open the file "SwatGame.ini" in Notepad. Scroll down to the part of the file that says this:

[SwatGame.SwatGameInfo]
;*************************************************
;Single Player y-based Damage Modifiers
;
; Damage to Swat officers and the player in a
; single-player campaign is multiplied by this
; value before being applied. The various
; Easy/Normal/Hard values correspond to the difficulty
; setting that the player chooses for his campaign
; in the campaign setup.
;*************************************************

Right below that text are the difficulty damage multipliers.

SPDamageModifierEasy=0.5;
SPDamageModifierNormal=1.0;
SPDamageModifierHard=1.5;
SPDamageModifierElite=1.5;

Change those numbers to "0.0" for each of the difficulty levels. As the text says, that affects you and your fellow SWAT members. I only tested this hack against the "Easy" difficulty setting, but I imagine it should work the same for them all. If not, sorry.

As a warning, you can still be injured by being shot after doing this. But, you can cancel out the accuracy and speed penalties you accrue by following the next cheat.

Accuracy and Limping
Open the file "SkeletalRegionInformation.ini" in Notepad. You're looking for these sections under each body part:

DamageModifier=(Min=3.0,Max=3.5)
AimErrorPenalty=(Min=2.0,Max=2.0)
LimpModifier=(Min=1.0,Max=1.0)

For the aim penalty, change the numbers for "AimErrorPenalty" to "0.0". To negate limping, change the "LimpModifier" numbers to "0.0".

As a quick note, changing the DamageModifier numbers to "0.0" will turn off damage to this body part. While this may seem like a good idea, it also affects the enemy! I emptied all my bullets into one guy with no effect whatsoever!

Easy, right? So far so good?

The next part is a bit trickier.

Weapon Accuracy
Once again, open up "SwatEquipment.ini" in Notepad. This file contains all the accuracy modifiers and characteristics the weapons. Want to make your character a crack shot? Here's how. You're looking for specific entries, like so:

;Since zero is perfect AimError, Max AimError is the worst AimError
MaxAimError=15.0
;AimError recovered per second until base AimError is achieved
LargeAimErrorRecoveryRate=8.0
SmallAimErrorRecoveryRate=2.5
AimErrorBreakingPoint=2.5
;Aim Error Base values
StandingAimError=0.25
WalkingAimError=1.5
RunningAimError=10.0
CrouchingAimError=0.15
;Instantaneous penalties
EquippedAimErrorPenalty=8.5
StandToWalkAimErrorPenalty=3.5
WalkToRunAimErrorPenalty=5.0
DamagedAimErrorPenalty=0.0
FiredAimErrorPenalty=1.25
InjuredAimErrorPenalty=1.15
MaxInjuredAimErrorPenalty=5.0
;AimError penalty for one unit of mouse movement per second
LookAimErrorPenaltyFactor=0.000125
MaxLookAimErrorPenalty=12.0

I changed all the numbers following each entry to "0.0" except for LargeAimErrorRecoveryRate, SmallAimErrorRecoveryRate, and
AimErrorBreakingPoint=2.5. You can probably change those to "0.0" as well, but I didn't test it. They don't really matter anyway, as you'll practically have a zeroed-in crosshair during any situation.

No applause necessary, gentlemen.

REMEMBER: BACK UP YOUR FILES BEFORE EDITING THEM. I CAN NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY NEFARIOUS GOINGS-ON IF YOU MUCK SOMETHING UP!!!

More Hacks - Unlock All Campaign Maps

Ed. note: always make backup copies of system files before you start editing, so you can easily restore the game to its original state.

In My Computer go to C:Program FilesSierraSWAT 4ContentSystem. Then you should see somthing that says campaign.ini. Open it in word pad and under

HACK_HasPlayedCreditsOnCampaignCompletion=False

type this exactly how i have it.

MissionResultNames=SP-FoodWall

MissionResultNames=SP-FairfaxResidence

MissionResultNames=SP-ConvenienceStore

MissionResultNames=SP-ABomb

MissionResultNames=SP-AutoGarage

MissionResultNames=SP-RedLibrary

MissionResultNames=SP-Casino

MissionResultNames=SP-JewelryHeist

MissionResultNames=SP-Tenement

MissionResultNames=SP-Hospital

MissionResultNames=SP-ArmsDeal

MissionResultNames=SP-Hotel

MissionResultNames=SP-DNA

MissionResultNames=ObjectivesBallistics

in that order and lined up exactly like that. Then above the

HACK_HasPlayedCreditsOnCampaignCompletion=False

change the

availableIndex=0
(or if you did some missions before it would be a different #) to

availableIndex=14

then save it and open the SWAT 4 program and you should have the campaign complete (and access to all campaign maps.)
