Clear Game Bonuses

Clear Game Bonuses
Unlock Battle Mode, Nightmare Difficulty, Ghost List, the Sound Test and Special Options, two special costumes, and ZOOM function by clearing the game on normal.
Unlock Fatal Difficulty & Chapter Select
Clear the game on Nightmare (not Normal) difficulty to unlock two more special costumers and Fatal Difficulty.

Clear the game on Fatal and you can unlock another costume, chapter select, and more options.

Unlock Alternate Ending
Finish the game from the beginning under Nightmare Difficulty.

Chase special function:
Successfully complete battle mode with an "S" rank to unlock the Chase special function for the camera.

Sense special function:
Successfully complete battle mode with any rank to unlock the "Sense" special function for the camera.

Zero special function:
Complete the ghost list and finish the game to unlock the "Zero" special function for the camera.

Screen saver:
Allow the game to be paused for a few minutes. The "ghosts" will begin to put their bloody hands on the screen.

Ending bonuses:
Successfully complete the game under the normal difficulty setting to unlock the "Battle Mode", "Nightmare Difficulty", "Ghost List", "Sound Test", and "Special Function" options; the "Special 1" and "Special 2" alternate costumes; and the "Zoom" special function for the camera.

Successfully complete the game under the nightmare difficulty setting to unlock the "Fatal Difficulty option; and the "Special 3" and "Special 4" alternate costumes.

Successfully complete the game under fatal difficulty setting to unlock the "Chapter Selection" option; the "Special 5" alternate costume, and the "None" special function for the camera.

Alternate ending:
Successfully complete the game under the nightmare difficulty setting. Note: You must play from beginning to end.

Nightmare mode:
Successfully complete the game in battle mode.

Fatal mode:
Successfully complete the game multiple times under the normal and nightmare difficulty settings with a high rank.

Fatal Frame

Get Battle Mode, Sound Test, Ghost List & Spec Functions

Finish the game one time

Get Nightmare Mode

Finish Battle Mode one time

Get Fatal Mode

Finish the game several times using both normal and nightmare difficulty

Screen Ghosts

If the game sets without you touching it for several minutes ghosts will appear

Get a different Ending

Finish Nightmare Mode

Get Chapter Select Option

Finish the game on the Nightmare difficulty setting.  A "Chapter" option will be unlocked in Story Mode
